Engine, transmission, and suspension specialists for Italian and Asian performance classics. Frame-up restorations, ground-up rebuilds, and a deep parts inventory — all hand-built in Groveland, Florida since 2015.
Every rebuild is documented, photographed, and built to outlast its owner. We don't take shortcuts and we don't take everything that rolls in the door — only what we can do right.
Full top-end and bottom-end work. Block boring, port & polish, balancing, period-correct or modern internals. Twin-cams to Datsun L-series.
Manual rebuilds, syncro replacement, clutch packages, differential refresh. We keep gearbox cases warm year-round.
Bushings, bearings, coilovers, sway bars. We dial in a car that handles like it's supposed to — not soggy, not punishing.
Our most recent ground-up restoration — a daily-drivable Italian thoroughbred that took home its dignity and a quiet idle.
Showed up with a sticking second gear, weeping head gasket, and the kind of suspension that made you reconsider your life choices on PCH. Twelve months later it left the shop with a freshly balanced 2.0L twin-cam, rebuilt 5-speed, fresh Konis on every corner, and an exhaust note you can hear from two streets over.
No expense spared, no shortcut taken. The owner has been driving it daily ever since.
NOS, OEM, and good-used parts for Italian and Asian classics. If we don't have it on the shelf, we know who does. Browse a few categories below or contact us for a specific part.
We take on a small number of projects at a time so each one gets the time it deserves. Here's how a typical job runs from the first phone call to handing back the keys.
Bring us the car or send detailed photos. We document its condition top to bottom — compression numbers, synchro wear, suspension, body and frame — and send you a written report.
Fixed-scope rebuilds get a fixed quote. Full restorations get a phased estimate with checkpoints, so there are no surprises. Once approved, we schedule the bay.
Every step is photographed and logged. Period-correct parts where it matters, modern internals where it helps. You see updates as often as you'd like them.
Test drives, alignment, and final tuning. You leave with a service binder documenting every part, every spec, and every photo — so the next mechanic knows the story.
A selection of cars we've completed over the last few years — Italian thoroughbreds, Japanese performance icons, and a few rare birds in between. Each one driven home by its owner.

Italian Performance Restoration is owner Randy Beeken's life's work. Since picking up his first wrench at fifteen, Randy has rebuilt more than a thousand Fiat 124 Spiders — a career's worth of bodies, blocks, gearboxes, and parts catalogs committed to memory.
When he isn't in the bay, he's passing it all on to the next generation as an automotive instructor at one of Florida's most respected trade schools. The shop runs on patience, documentation, and a stockpile of parts most of the country forgot existed — and it stays small on purpose, so each car gets the time it deserves.
Restoration quote, a single rebuild, or just looking for a part — drop us a note. We answer every inquiry personally, usually within a day.
